Emma Stone
Emily Jean Stone, also known as Emma was
born in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 6, 1988. She was the daughter of Krista
Jean Stone (nee Yeager), who is a homemaker as well as Jeffrey Charles Stone
(CEO of a firm that contracts and was its founder and chief executive officer).
She is of Swedish, German & British Isles descent. Stone began acting
in her early years as a Valley Youth Theatre member in Phoenix, Arizona. She
made her stage debut in Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows."
Through her teens, Stone appeared in many other productions until she decided
to make acting her profession. The official narrative is that she put together
an PowerPoint presentation, which was backed by Madonna's "Hollywood"
and also titled "Project Hollywood", in an attempt to persuade her
parents to allow her to drop out of school and relocate to Los Angeles. After
the presentation was accepted she and her mother moved to LA. She continued her
education at home and was able to audition. She made her TV debut in 2004 when
she was cast in the role of Laurie Partridge on the VH1 talent/reality show In
Search of the Partridge Family. The show was followed by a number of smaller TV
roles in the years to follow. After a string of success in the role, her
appearance as Olive in Easy A (2010) was her film debut. She was a student at
Xavier College Preparatory, Phoenix, Arizona. Although she's known as redhead,
her actual hair color is blonde. It was Judd Apatow who suggested she change
her hair color to Superbad (2007) and she was so pleased with it that she chose
to keep it. At age 15 she persuaded her parents she could go to Hollywood. She
made this happen by creating an PowerPoint presentation entitled Project
Hollywood. She got her start in acting at 11 years of age in the Valley Youth
Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, where she performed in more than 16 stage productions ,
as well as acting in the comedy improv troupe. Caylee Cowan also performed at
the Valley Youth Theatre.
