Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on the
26th of August, 2002) also known as Lil Tecca, is an American artist and
rapper. The release of "Ransom," his 2019 single, helped him to
become a popular star. The single was included on his debut mixtape We Love You
Tecca (2019) that peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also
featured the singles "Love Me", "Did It Again" and
"Did It Again". The debut album of his studio called Virgo World
(2020) debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100's
top-charting tracks "Dolly" and "When You Down". The second
mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It included the songs
"Repeat It", "Lot of Me" as well as others. Tyler-Justin
Anthony sharpe was the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born August 26, 2002
in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was born in Queens' Springfield Gardens, and
later moved to Cedarhurst on Long Island. At a young age, Sharpe had
aspirations of being a part of the NBA however, at 12 years old Sharpe shifted
his focus toward pursuing a career path in music. He attended Lawrence High
School. Tecca was nine years old at the age, was rapping alongside the other
students using his Xbox to record. They would make diss tracks directed towards
each other and one was uploaded to SoundCloud years ago, but has since been
removed. When he was a child in high school, he had no plans to pursue music a
living and instead , he envisioned becoming an NBA star. When he was in middle
school however, he started to become bored with basketball and took music
seriously. The first track that gained some popularity, "Tectri", was
composed in collaboration with his friend, Lil Gummybear, and it was released
in the early part of 2017. Other preliminary tracks of his include
"Callin". His hit single "Ransom," which was first uploaded
to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd in 2019, began
Tecca's meteoric rise. The track ranked 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The
track has been a hit with more than 900 million Spotify listeners and more than
300 million YouTube views.
